Book Review: The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place - The Mysterious Howling by Maryrose Wood

“Clearly, being anxious is a full-time and rather exhausting occupation.”

One word to describe this book: ENTERTAINING.
I bought this book mainly because of the cover! And I love the concept of children that are mysterious, weird and strange or - INCORRIGIBLE. So when I saw this book, I instantly grabbed a copy. And to be honest, I did enjoy it.
The story is very predictable and typical. It starts with the protagonist, Miss Lumely who is a governess and needs a new job. She accepts the position in the Ashton place where she would be a governess for 3 children. The problem is, she never expected those 3 children she’ll be living with for a long time.
This book is will really leave you howling for more! It’s a fun, entertaining book because even though the concept is very simple, there are still unexpected twists and fun happenings throughout the book. And the fact that this book has a sequel makes me squeal for more. For me being an avid fan of children being the most centered characters of the book, I really appreciate authors who do it. Makes me feel that there’s more to just the stories about normal children being well, children, but being strange and wildly weird for me is very intriguing and will leave me getting a copy of the book.
I think 3 out of 5 stars are enough for this. Love it!
I recommend this book especially if you’re fond of well…incorrigible children enough.
