“I want to believe there is a somebody out there for me. I want to believe that I exist to be there for that somebody.”
—————————————————-
One word to describe this book: UNEXPECTED.
To find love so unexpected and inexplicable is very much acquainted, so far, not everyone receives it in ways just like this. What if you entered a bookstore and found a very peculiar notebook telling you dares that invites you to change your life and unexpectedly meet someone in between?
It’s not so Nicholas Sparks/Sarah Dessen, this is David Levithan-Rachel Cohn awesome work.
This book is really sweet. I love the way it’s not staying at the same point, it’s always moving forward. There are things you’ll quite realize about love throughout this book and it’ll make you see how simple things are always the best when it comes to what you love.
This book will make you believe in the word “soulmates” all over again.
Book Review: Every Day by David Levithan

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: We all want everything to be okay. We don’t even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.”
———————————————————————————
One word to describe this book: ETERNAL.
Alright, why did I use the word “eternal”? I have a few other options such as “unbelievable” or “ecstatic” or even “beautiful” but why “eternal”? Guess this word would suffice everything in this book actually.
The story is very intriguing! A guy who has this condition of changing bodies every single day. He calls himself “A” inhabits a body with no warning after 24 hours. It was as if he has grown up in a world like this, his soul changing every 24 hours into another body with all the memories he has collected. And that’s the only thing he can bring, the memories.
Falling in love is a different story. What do you think will happen? I was too much in a negative state when I was reading the synopsis. I mean if you really think about it, it’s going to be difficult, risk-taking and I guess, beautiful and sad at the same time.
This novel is absolutely beautiful. And you get to meet so many different characters in so many walks of life, all while focusing on a romance that is timeless and crosses all bounds. Exquisite writing style makes this book unforgettable.
I loved this book. It was a total knock-off in the end, yet I felt like there is more to the characters and how they feel. I love how David Levithan took a step towards a story that will make readers appreciate love in so many different ways.
Love that can make you walk on every mile just so you can be together.
Love that is selfless and endearing at the same time.
Love that is never giving up, and will fight.
Love that lasts.
Love that is eternal.

Book Review: City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

“I don’t want to be a man,” said Jace. “I want to be an angst-ridden teenager who can’t confront his own inner demons and takes it out verbally on other people instead.” “Well,” said Luke, “you’re doing a fantastic job.”
————————————————————————-
ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS BOOK: ENTERTAINING.
I loved the first book, The City of Bones yet I was a bit bored when reading this book. Don’t judge me, I did enjoyed some parts but some left me feeling like there’s this big gap between the characters and events and I got this nasty feeling that all feels the same from the climax to the epilogue.
It’s not that I don’t like the writing and the wordplay, it really was good and it stayed true to the characters and to how the story goes since the first book. But this second book, although I really like it, made me a bit slow to read. It took me a month to finish it and I’ve already read other books while I’m still in the process because I can’t just grasp the story in a way that it all feels the same.
Well, here’s the catch: The romance is too good and I’m all like giggling with the Jace/Simon/Clary. ENTERTAINING, YES.
I love all the romance parts, also all the chasing for Valentine’s reign of terror and all the history/background of Shadowhunters and Demons. I guess it’s just the perfect book for all the get-to-knows and to familiarize readers for the next events to happen for the sequel.
I’m still looking forward to read City of Glass! JACE AND CLARY.

Book Review: Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan

“It was a mistake,” you said. But the cruel thing was, it felt like the mistake was mine, for trusting you.”
————————————————————————
ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS BOOK: WORDPLAY.
I loved this book to bits. I’ve been thinking of how I’m going to construct a book review about this because it seems kinda weird if I did especially when this book is actually a dictionary. Oh well.
This book was truly an exception from all those novels, this is something that you should read every once in a while.
In a nutshell, The Lover’s Dictionary is the simple love story of a couple, left unnamed by the author, told in dictionary form. It’s all about wordplay. And it’s really cool because the concept was something that was different and unique. I was really interested to read this book when I browsed it at the bookstore.
The couple, shows how their love story evolves from time to time, without specific dates and moments, just stating every memory and experience through words that simply connects every up and down and the happiest, sweetest moments of their relationship. Each entry in the dictionary, whether long or short, will make you stop and think.
Wicked genius I suppose, what a great collaboration of words from A-Z, I was so amazed at how the author managed to use good words to match the couple’s whereabouts from beginning to the end. You can feel them, be emotional and just realize how love changes people in different ways.
This wasn’t the first time I read a David Levithan book, and he is generally known as an author of love stories that mostly consists of a dose of reality, romance, and packed with humor. Loved it.
I would totally recommend this book to people who like literary fiction but maybe aren’t really up for an epic family drama or tender tale of a professor and the nubile student he seduces. Or people who like dictionaries. You know, either one.

Timekeeper by Mitch Albom

“With endless time, nothing is special. With no loss or sacrifice, we can’t appreciate what we have”
———————————————-
One word to describe this book: APPRECIATE.
That is it! We must learn how to appreciate. Even when you haven’t read this book you’ll realize with the first look what it might mean, or even make your own synopsis in your head. I first saw this at the bookstore last year and never gave any attention to it mainly because the book is so thin! Forgive the erratic response but I’m a sucker for thick novels.
But I realized that this book just changed my life just now.
Now that must be too much Kate! No. It’s not too much. It’s just what I needed at this moment of my life. And maybe you will too.
Why did I love this so much? I just learned 3 things that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Living it right now folks.
We people love time. We need time because it’s the most necessary commodity we have and we treasure in our life.
And because of that we do things that we usually do. We live our lives. When we are asked, what’s our purpose in life? We say to live our lives to the fullest, to be happy, have endless joy, do things that I have never done before, etc.
But here’s the thing.
1. GOD gave us time because he loves us.
He loves us to the tiniest bit of who we are, what we do and where we are. He never leaves and never forsakes and He knows what we need. He is our great provider. One of the things that he gave is time. He knows we’re gonna need it, the full affect of it.
That love that is so ever grateful gave us time to do the things we WANT to do, like Mitch wrote in this book that there is so many ways on how to use the word time. Kill time, spare time, much time, little time, more time, etc.
God knows what we want. Time is one of those things.
2. When you are measuring life, you are not living it.
God gave us time because we need it, but if we always wake up and look at the watch, the clock and being conscious about everything time, without knowing how life works in simple ways then we’re screwed.
YOU’RE NOT LIVING IF YOU KEEP THINKING ABOUT TIME.
There are time when we should be living life the way it’s supposed to be.
To have that utmost bliss and feel infinite. To be cherished and to be loved. To thank and praise the Almighty.
To say the things we want to say.
To do the things we want to do.
To succeed.
To fail.
To live.
To let go.
To survive.
To be victorious.
AND SO MUCH MORE.
There is so much more to what we have right now. What’s the meaning of life then? If life is about getting a job or taking your kids to school or eating and partying with friends, without that tiniest hint of prayer and gratefulness from the One who gave it to you then what’s the meaning of life without GOD? What is time without the one who did it? GOD?
Think about it. We must live.
3. There’s a reason why God limits time.
The length of your days does not belong to you. We all should know that. We must stop trying our best to control time and think that we must have the power to stop and force time to move because it won’t happen/ Never. Ever. Ever.
Our days depends on how we choose to live it. It always depends on us, what we want and how we want it.
They say “use your time wisely”, which I guess is a very realistic quote. And it’s true. We must spend it with the people we love and for the things that is important for us. Because after all, when we die we don’t take anything in heaven except for ourselves.
We must be humble in using our time.
Until our last breath.
Oh and by the way, the answer to why God limits our time? That’s your job to find out by reading this book. I’m not kidding, it’s true.
And when you find the answer, you will smile. ;)

Thoughts About Wuthering Heights

“If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.”
———————————————————————————
Best word to describe this book: REGRET.
I have this feeling inside that’s the word that could best describe the whole situation throughout the pages of this book. After I read it I have a lot of questions to ponder and I can’t seem to be content until they’re all answered. Like is Catherine and Heathcliff’s love doomed from the very beginning? I mean yes, they had this troubled childhood especially Heathcliff but why is everything seemed so wrong? Did I just had a misunderstanding about their love story?
But I felt how much they loved each other despite of hindrances that life brings upon them. This tragic love story is just so unbelievable that pieces came together and the ending, just made me feel more and less content; Heathcliff’s despair, the family situations and all the sorrows that were made. I must say that I’m still not contented. I want more, there’s just too much sorrow.
To be honest, Catherine and Heathcliff lived a very miserable life in the moors, without much to show and to expect, no changes except for time to pass. Dwelling to get used to that life, with scarcity in food, not much places to go and the weather that probably made them feel it’s such an ordinary situation. There aren’t much changes, until the time when they seperated. Few years after, they were reunited but for Heathcliff, chances are small; and for Catherine, decisions are hard to make.
Catherine for me is a very peculiar yet carefree girl, mainly because she’s young, and she’s that typical girl embracing her freedom as long as she can. But she kinda has this mental situation where she’s very much confounded with strange mood swings. But she isn’t hard to compare to any other lady. Heathcliff on the other hand, is this mute boy that came out of nowhere until he was found by Mr. Earnshaw. For me he is very much like a weirdo, full of a strong brick wall surrounded him that you’ll have to think of how you’re going to approach him, his love for Catherine is indescribable, he is gentle and loving. Yet with any other person, Heathcliff isn’t also hard to compare to anyone. He’s just a person with a trouble past, you can’t avoid that to someone like him.
I think all the characters were all well presented. Although, I’m very annoyed by Nelly, the most innocent and unbelievably, the greatest eavesdrop queen I ever know (I mean if you really think about it) But Nelly is much important in this book not because she’s the narrator, but she made every character present their personalities clear as crystal, it was a struggle for me to understand the whole book in her perspective, because I was wondering how will I get to know Catherine and Heathcliff’s tragic love is Nelly keeps showing different sides to different characters? But I did, she explained very well. What a very trustworthy maidservant she is.
But I think that Emily Bronte did a great job in making such a tragic novel that touched the hearts of the readers. The setting was absolutely perfect for the story. The childhood that was simple yet very remarkable in their lives was such a vantage point especially when both met when years had already past.
Betrayal and revenge are the two points of this novel. I have felt all these feelings that was released in every conversation, the beautiful play of words and all the emotions that captures the reader’s attention, every character all connected.
REGRET. If you have read this book you’ll understand my despair. I just feel so sad and I think that maybe there should be something more to their story that I can’t explain, maybe Emily left it to the readers to figure out some kind of hidden message. But their love story is just something ripped out from their hearts and killed them. I cried. Especially the words, the lines that they said in the book, truly irreplaceable, sad and truly regretful.
It’s a great read, especially if you’re a fan of tragic novels. This book will make you feel very much indeed a part of the character’s emotions, you’ll swing by their lives, feel their sorrows and joys, simple yet moving, this classic novel really made me feel that love is very strong, yet becomes weak when it’s not protected.

Persuasion by Jane Austen ❤

“You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope…I have loved none but you.”
———————————————————————
One word to describe this book: TIME.
Awww this book pierced by my heart a thousand times! This was the second time I’ve read it, and my ratings went up from 4 to 5. I just had this sudden realization that this book can affect the hearts of many, and indeed it is realistic. Realistic in a way that even though this most likely happened in the 19th century, it is still possible to be attached to people nowadays.
What I dearly love about this book is that it teaches us about time.
What if you fell in love with someone so much you will do everything for them and fight the world just to be with that person? But when your family told you that you are thinking too much and you are making the right decisions to change your life and it might affect your reputation that you must leave the person you love? Anne Elliot’s love for Mr. Wentworth became like this. They were so in love until Anne’s relative persuaded her not to marry Mr. Wentworth because they think he is not worthy for her.
Then after 8 years they meet again.
Anne felt the deepest regret in her whole life, that is, leaving Captain Wentworth brokenhearted, now she has to see him again with all the ladies falling head over heels with him. Now Anne comes face-to-face with the deep regret of her old decision, and her abiding love for Wentworth, as she wonders if a long ago love can be rekindled.
It’s pretty sad. I felt how she tried to contain herself from all the feelings she felt ever since. Every time she sees him, all her feelings kept rushing back so fast, her heart thickens every time she meets him, even if they only said a few words and very little exchanges of glances.
I feel Anne in her suffering towards her love for Captain Wentworth. And indeed, we all can relate to her. Loving someone, but both of you separated because it is the wrong time, that quotation of “Falling in love with the right person at the wrong time” is profoundly a fact. I think it works well with everyone. But to do justice, it’s practically efficient to think realistically otherwise both will die of regret.
I cried. I always cry at period dramas. Especially at Jane Austen’s books.
In the lovers of this book, they show a compatible emotion that they shared eight years ago and thinking that those feelings might still be felt until now. I mean like imagine, 8 years? 8 years have freakin passed and almost every thing changes! Your looks, your likes and dislikes, your ways, well not always but come to think of it, it is a very long time! How can you still retain your feelings for that person?
Unless, you loved that person so much you think of them every time you wake up and they’re also the last person that comes into your mind before you sleep. You imagine them with you, all the wandering, all the bittersweet memories you try to forget but you just cannot because deep down, with all the denial you do it would not work. Simply because you still love that person, that love that never fades until the day grows old.
They realized that love can never change even though time passes. Indeed it is a very strong love, one that can defy everything against all odds. In the future, they will try to see if their feelings are still mutual, not to be trashed and not to be blamed. I feel that love is very beautiful and honest.
Love waits. And that I am very jealous.
———————————————-
TIME.
Why did I chose time as my word of description? Time plays a very underrated role in the book and even though it doesn’t seem to show in pages, time plays a very important role for the situation.
It simply shows that time can change things, make people change but feelings, are hard to disguise. If the truth shows, the denial weakens. You may only see it through the person’s eyes, and the person’s eyes only.
Obviously this is a romance novel, but what differs to me about what Jane Austen did was to show how much she criticized the world before in ways where a women must be beautiful and youthful enough to marry and not end up like an old maid. But besides from that, she created a wonderful love story in between.
Below are photos from the BBC adaptation of Persuasion:

Of course I have watched this, but the book is 10x better.
But I have felt the feelings of Anne and Wentworth more all thanks to this adaptation. Lovely on-screen kiss!

North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell ❤

“I believe I’ve seen Hell. It’s white; snow white.”— Margaret Hale, North and South
———————————————-
One word to describe this book: BEAUTIFUL.
Words can’t express my love for this book, I just read it overnight and I cannot stop myself from thinking about it very much. But I will try my best to contain myself and describe through the use of words on how I got hooked so bad in this book.
I’ve been wondering what North and South is really about ever since I started browsing through the “classic section” at my favorite bookstore. There’s a mixture of politics around here with a dash of romance that sprung up in the middle of the story which made me feel a little bit bored before buying this book. I was thinking that I might not like it, it might not be of my best interest.
But I was wrong. Totally wrong.
The story talks about the life of Margaret Hale, a daughter of a clergyman that decided to move to a different city in the north. Together with her family, they witnessed the lives of the people in the city and struggled to fit in and be a part of the civilian. Margaret, being from the south; isn’t really used to the place. Missing all the nature and glory of the sun, she tries her best not to think about the past, but to move forward to the future.
There she met Mr. John Thornton, who is a wealthy cotton mill owner of the place and has a very aspiring sister and a genuine yet very aggressive mother. They met, and of course, Margaret dislikes him immediately. But the mill owner dislikes her too at first, but falls passionately in love with her because of her bravery and courage. Then his workers strike. Against a background of industrial drama and personal tragedy.
After I read the book, I immediately searched the web for any tv mini-series or movies that suit up North and South, and unbelievably, there is! The 2004 BBC mini-series starred by Daniela Denby-Ashe and Richard Armitage himself! I was literally squealing in delight that I downloaded the series immediately!
I posted some photos below about my favorite pairing from BBC series. Beautiful.

For a much easier explanation:
Girl hates Guy because he’s being a dick.
Guy starts to fall for girl because of her strong personality.
Guy confesses undying love for Girl and wants to marry her.
Girl rejects Guy.
Guy pretends to hate Girl, but Guy’s love grows stronger each day.
Girl starts to realize guy is not really a dick
They meet in the middle
Then live happily ever after.
————————————————————
Here’s the thing. I’ve always been a fan of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy and their breathtaking love story that’s truly one for the books. They have been on my number 1 list of best period drama couples ever, and one of the best books I’ve ever read by Jane Austen. But this…
But this love story is all so truly beautiful. It is simple, just like Darcy and Elizabeth, similar in terms of their dislike towards each other at first. But little by little, they both grow compassionate for each other that showed love in ways that they don’t even realize they’re falling for it. They’re falling for love with each other but they simply deny it at the back of their minds.
Not twisted, not very ill, just plain love. It’s all so heartbreaking every time I read the book and watch the scenes all over again. Makes me want to have my very own Mr. Thornton, and also Mr. Darcy too! I CAN’T EVEN… OH MY GOD.
There are those love stories that we wish it can happen in real life. This is definitely one of those stories.
You must read it, then watch it. You will thank me soon.
Book Review: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

“Love: a single word, a wispy thing, a word no bigger or longer than an edge. That’s what it is: an edge; a razor. It draws up through the center of your life, cutting everything in two. Before and after. The rest of the world falls away on either side.”
——————————————————————-
One word to describe this book: DEPRESSION.
Probably, if you have read this book, you’ll truly understand why I think depression is the best word to describe for this wonderful book by Lauren Oliver.
First off, I would like to point out that this book is a dystopian novel. So if you are generally a fan of this type of novels, you’ll definitely love this! Love this to the point where you’ll actually get to feel the main character’s perspective.
I was wondering the fictional stuff she used to create this book and to make it all work out and stand together and truly I was impressed. I thought at first that the story is very light and plot is so typical that I could not manage to go on any further. But as I did, I realized that this is not just that ordinary type of dystopian novel. There wasn’t any touch of leaders and government opposition, it’s all just happening in one person’s POV. And through that POV, the whole book was created and just entering that mind makes you see how it all began.
I mean obviously this book has a sequel, and the next book, that I haven’t encountered yet. But more to this book, Lauren Oliver did a great job on starting a dystopian novel. I’ve read her first book, Before I Fall and it’s one of the greatest and wonderfully thrilling books I’ve ever read. Praises to that, and to this too; for capturing many readers and made them feel as much as the main character did.
This book has a lot of emotions attached to it and it’s not easy not to tell, from the pages you can feel it and I guess that’s what makes this book really special.
I can’t wait to read Pandemonium soon!

Much Love,

Book Review: The Mortal Instruments - The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

“Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?’
Jace said, “Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself.”
…”At least,” she said, “you don’t have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland.”
“Not necessarily. I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting.”
—————————————————————————————-
One word to describe this book: ENGROSSING.
Alright. I must say first that most people don’t really like this type of book and myself too became a bit less interested when I read the synopsis. Typical story of a girl who has been chosen to become something because it’s her destiny ant so far she became the most important person of the book, falling in love with the hottest guy who’s such a badass and saving the world from evil. I mean yes, we all know that and I thought so too.
So what’s the difference of this book from the others?
Well, honestly I bought this book alone without the whole set because I wonder I might just hate the book and felt like I threw my money into some trash. But here’s the point. I LOVED THE BOOK. And what the hell Kate, why? Said some of my friends. It’s not some kind of a very boring plot. But if you read the synopsis you’ll think yeah it’s still that typical-love-story-saving-the-world-from-evil-thing but it will not bore you I promise.
But of course, if you’re the type of reader who enjoys reading fantasy type of novels that involves different supernatural and underworld characters/creatures, well this book is perfect for you. A lot of gore and adventure, and a perfect touch of romance. It will never go away, the romance I mean. I was so hooked on this book that I was so eager the get the next book and just buy the whole set.
Engrossing mainly is that this book has interesting plot with so many twists and turns on every chapter. You’ll be like “Oh my god why did that happen?” it will make you gasp and scream and be in love with it. I did, and I can tell I will love this book more if I read the whole series!
By the way this series has 5 books. Too many? I don’t think so, if you’re so interested and you loved the plot and the characters, you’ll just wanna keep them coming until everything is over. Plus, these books are very popular in the market and voted as the best teenage books/ best book cover/ best young adult book of 2012.
So go and get your copy now!
Plus, the movie is coming up on August 2013! LILY COLLINS AND JAMIE CAMPBELL OMG

Book Review: The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

“The simple truth is that you can understand the way you are. You can know and love and hate it. You can blame it, resent it, and nothing changes. In the end, you’re just a part of it.”
—————————————————————————————————
One word to describe this book: CREATIVE.
Probably this book is one of those underrated good thriller books I’ve read. It’s very original and very concise, detailed responses and the story went well. I kinda felt bored at first, but then the climax came up which made me feel more excited for the characters and how the story will go.
Brenna Yovanoff loves to create a world without limits in terms of a hidden spookiness, a touch of whimsy and little bit of an edge in her books. Thriller-type but they all work out together.
It’s a fast read, I finished it for 3 days due to my schoolwork which hinders me to have a free time and even breathe. Colossal work stuff but I can get the hang of it. Anyway, if you guys enjoy thriller books you’ll love The Replacement!
A beautiful story of ugly things. Love it.

Much Love,

Thoughts About Cloud Atlas

Past. Present. Future. All connected in ways you can never imagine.
————————————
“It’s a small world. It keeps recrossing itself.”
One word to describe this book/movie: BEAUTIFUL AND ENGROSSING.
For those of you who have read the book like I did, you have a better understanding of the movie when you watch it. In my case, I was relieved mainly because they did great on the scenes that made me remember myself reading the book. It was better, it was getting better one story at a time. I guess I’ll be making this a movie and a book review as well. To keep it short, as they say.
This movie has 6 stories in different parts of the world and in different generations all put of together with an amazing finish. How could you even believe that some people are meant to do this and that without further notice? Or even have the slightest chance of having almost the same routine of life every time? Or even fight for the same thing over and over in the course of their lifetime until it reaches to the point where everything becomes hazy and it stops, which leads them to their next journey.
I knew this was going to be a long movie because reading the book and filling your mind with what you think endless stories to spice up your imagination in every page is…endless! The book was a page turner, to say the least. I was in this terrible curiosity of the characters different lives, how they connect to each other in impossible ways. It was hard to picture at first, I mean to think that every actor is going to play six different characters is mind boggling! I even made a list of the actors and the characters that they were going to play and reread the book for the second time to clear my imagination and gain more focus on the run.
I honestly found myself smiling while watching the movie when it was getting to the climax and everything was turning out the way they should be. I was surprised they did great on it, I read other book and movie reviews and some commented that the movie sucked. But I generally think they did the most profound way of creating a movie out of the pages written by David Mitchell. Even the music is stunning! Everything was well put up and seriously accomplished. I loved it.
I loved it.
The movie did not made me cry, my heart did. It’s like you are entering their lives, standing in their shoes and witness the sacrifices they did for the things they value most, for the people they love. It’s very sad and moving at the same time.
Even if you don’t believe in past lives, it’ll make you think that there’s always going to be a door that will open when another one closes. There will always be a connection to every single thing and we just can’t see it. Time stops and there we are doing the things we are used to do, making the same things, keep doing the same mistakes. “Time is what stops history happening at once; time is the speed at which the past disappears.” But in our life, we are going to experience things far better than we imagined.
“Our lives our not our own. From womb to tomb, we are bound by others. Past and present. And by each crime, and every kindness, we birth our future.” -Sonmi 451
Book Review: Have A Little Faith by Mitch Albom

“Faith is about doing. You are how you act, not just how you believe.”
——————————————————————————-
One word to describe this book: HOPE.
This book is extraordinary. Wrote in very simple words and plain poetry, I imagined things that could change my life if I put my life in a much deeper devotion to God.
No words can describe how this book was such a page-turner for me. Dealing with different situations, this book contains the true story of a person that truly changed Mitch Albom’s life from thereafter. This jewish priest named Henry or “The Reb” was the key to all the life’s wandering about faith and of course….hope.
I was so fascinated by the Reb’s story here. I feel so weak and incompatible with my strength and it made me think about my relationship with the Lord. If I should measure it again and see how far it took me to say that I am in a very deep and intimate love affair with Christ. After reading this book it made me realize that there are always second chances and barely are they have given by the Lord’s hand.
We cannot take things for granted, and somehow we do that to God. We don’t realize it, but we’re using these beliefs or religion that we cling on to say that we have been changed and purified. But the question is, have you really changed? Or are you really changed? An easy question, but hard to answer.
Read this book. 5 stars for me!
This book has taught me to hope.

Book Review: Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

“There are books of which the backs and covers are by far the best parts.”
————————————————————————————
One word to describe this book: MOVING.
I have read a lot of book reviews about this certain novel of Charles Dickens, and I can’t honestly believe that most people generally did not enjoy reading this book. Why people? It is a rather thick book, the words are merrily tough in a sentence but what do you expect? This is a classic novel, written by literature geniuses years ago not by some indie chic-lic writer. It doesn’t work that way. But I guess some people did not love the book mainly because it was a long read and plot-wise, it’s kinda sad.
I finished this book for 3 days. Long enough for a novel, but alright for a classic one. I’ve been detailing a lot when it comes to classics. The words are delightful and deep, there’s a lot to think about and all those mind-wrecking sentences that makes my jaw drop in an instant.
For the book, I loved it. It wasn’t a perfect book to recommend, but I guess Dickens did a great job on this. A story of a boy who lived with himself, who was kicked out of a place he was living in just because of asking for more food. The poor and rural life of a boy trying to survive. All he wants is to live well and have a family. We all want that. Guess that explains the title.
The funny thing and pitiful at the same time about this book is that Oliver was being punished in the most uncertainty, a very bad mash-up of various punishments which made the book very tiring to read because of the long storyline which ends pretty much predictable on the last few pages.
It’s worth my 3-day read. If you wanna try, then go ahead. It’s good to read classics even for once in a while.
